Last September, a [few outlets](http://uk.businessinsider.com/the-future-of-oil-supply-and-demand-2016-9) were reporting the counterintuitive findings of a new HSBC research report on global oil supply. Unfortunately, the true implications of the HSBC report were largely misunderstood.
